An outdoor show about flight, freedom and the relationship between humankind and nature.
A lonely young boy makes friends with a wild bird and his eyes are opened to the natural world around him. As the bird and the boy grow together he comes to realise what dwellers in an urban landscape can learn from their feathered friends.
Featuring storytelling, puppetry
The show was pioneered by designer Lydia Denno with story created by playwrights Ben Ellis and Nikki Williams, puppetry in collaboration with Annie Brooks and direction by Amelia Bird.
Bird toured national rural festivals throughout the summers of 2014 and 2015 when it was also accompanied by an extensive education programme enabling children to make their own bird puppets.
